Description

Mandatory note for this cargo entry: fine grained sulphur (flowers of sulphur) shall not be transported in bulk.


Description: A brittle yellow mineral, found freely in volcanic countries. Insoluble in water, but easily fusible by heat. Loaded in a damp or wet condition. Bulk density: 1,053-1,176 kg/m3.

 

Non-IMSBC Code information: used in manufacture of sulphuric acid, pulp and paper, rubber vulcanization, detergents, petroleum refining, dyes, chemicals, drugs, pharmaceuticals, explosives, insecticides, repellents, soil conditioner and fungicide. .Moisture content is 0.2 %. Highly flammable.
