A T-shaped structure extends 306 m from the shore and terminates in a pierhead, 500 m in length, including the outer dolphins. Under extreme weather conditions the refinery reserves the right to deny ships access to Gulfhavn. Ships already berthed may be requested to leave harbour or change berthing position. The vessel may also be requested to leave the berth in case of fire on board. Four berths are provided on the structure: No. 1 - product berth, depth 16.0 m (52'06''), Max. draft 15.5 m, for tankers up to 280 m loa. No. 2 - product berth, depth 12.0 m (39'04''), Max. draft 11.5 m, for tankers up to 30,000 dwt and 180 m loa. No. 3 - product berth, depth 7.5 m (24'06''), Max. draft 7.0 m, for tankers up to 7,000 dwt and max. loa of 135 m. Berths nos. 1, and 2 are equipped with mechanically operated Woodfield hose handling structures. Max. height of manifold centre line above Mean Sea Level is 17.0 m (55'08'') at berth no. 1 and 15.0 m (49'03'') at berth no. 2.
