New ICS secretary general
Overview
The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has announced that Guy Platten, the current head of the UK Chamber of Shipping, will be the next secretary general of ICS.
Angus Frew, Secretary General/CEO at BIMCO, and former head of the UK Chamber of Shipping, congratulates Guy Platten.
“The appointment is well deserved. We look forward to working with him in the future on key issues in the shipping industry,” says Angus Frew.
The current secretary general of ICS, Peter Hinchliffe, announced his retirement in early 2017. Guy Platten is expected to take over the role from the middle of the year.
